22 09 2009

Competing Pages is the major factor when learning about your web pages potential to rank on page one of search engines quickly or slowly (or never).

In rank of easy to difficult here are the competing page results and what this means for you…

0-10,000 competing pages – Easiest to rank for

10-50,000 competing  – Increasingly more difficult

50,000 + competing pages – Hardest to rank for

How to find out how many competing pages there are on the web for your keyword…

1. Go To Google.com

2. Type in your keyword with speech brackets (” is the google symbol for Exact Match)

Eg. “Orange County Tennis Clubs”

3. Then press Google Search

4. Look at the results in the top right hand corner of your results

If you sell products – either digital products or physical ones – you can get Google to host a website for you, sort of.

Google Base is a platform that when you register a product for sale here, your product will display in google search results.

It’s basically free advertising – the only cost is your time.

When you have a product registered it will show in ‘Shopping Results for…’

It looks like this…
